The Maryland Office of Health Care Quality (OHCQ) classifies all Maryland assisted living communities into 3 levels of care: low, moderate and high. Caraway Assisted Living is classified as Level 3: High Level of Care. This means our team is able to assist your loved one in any number of daily activities and help monitor a variety of health issues, balancing the safety concerns while maintaining independence and freedom of choice.

Our staff is experienced in caring for residents with Alzheimer/ Dementia and can ensure that your loved one maintains the highest quality of life, with dignity and respect. Our team believes in providing cuing and choice to allow residents to maintain independence and a sense of pride in their accomplishments. However, due to the unlimited access to outdoors, residents who have a risk of wandering are not appropriate for our setting.

Residents or their families generally pay the cost of care from their own financial resources. Depending on the nature of an individual's health insurance program or long-term care insurance policy, some costs may be reimbursable.

Caraway Assisted Living does not accept the Medicaid Waiver program. The community does participate with limited availability in the Cecil County Housing subsidy.

Delegating Nurse program is a Maryland Board of Nursing approved course, required for nurses desiring to function as an RN case manager or delegating nurse in an assisted living setting.

Our caregivers receive extensive training in CPR, fire and life safety, dementia care, food safety, emergency disaster training, resident rights, psychosocial needs, service plans, resident assessment, medication administration and infection control training.  Caraway also has opportunities for team members to achieve certifications in medication administration, therapeutic activities, and dining safety in serving.
